Story
Comedy in the Clubhouse was founded by a sports loving comedian and comedy promotor, who saw an opportunity to merge their passions. The idea was sparked after 15 years in the comedy industry and a love for running comedy shows with a gap in the market for clubhouses. After putting on some hugely successful shows they realised the huge potential for live comedy to transform the social atmosphere. They envisioned a service that could bring
top-notch comedians to sports clubhouses, creating a vibrant and engaging environment. With a network of talented comedians and a deep understanding of club culture, Comedy in the Clubhouse was born to bring laughter to the
heart of Clubhouses across the world.

James Beatty
​James Beatty is an Essex-based comedian and accomplished compère known for his cheeky charm, sharp wit, and natural crowd work. With over 15 years in comedy, he’s run successful clubs, programmed the Bocking Arts Theatre, and produced sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival.
A regular on BBC Radio Essex, James’s warmth and charisma have made him a crowd favourite at comedy venues across the UK. Away from the mic, he’s a keen golfer — though his handicap suggests “enthusiasm over accuracy” — and an avid football fan who brings the same passion to the terraces as he does to the stage.

Matt Adlington
Matt Adlington is a Southend-based stand-up comedian, promoter and host with over 20 years in the comedy industry. Performing with an easy rapport and animated delivery (Chortle), he’s a trusted face on the UK circuit, regularly MC’ing, opening and headlining at top comedy clubs and festivals. A familiar voice on Radio Essex and several comedy podcasts, Matt has also booked and promoted successful corporate and commercial
comedy events for major brands including Coca-Cola and VegFest.Off stage, he’s a lifelong Southend United fan (and former club mascot) and a keen but terrible golfer, proving that enthusiasm can be just as entertaining as skill.
